Hopeful Valley started life as the fictional town where all of the stories I have in my head take place.
At the time I came up with the name, I was in a place in my life that was confusing and stressful. I hated my job but didn't know what else to do because I had so many bills. I was spending my life working to pay my bills so I could keep my house and have stuff I needed so I could go to work. It was an exhausting, hopeless existence. I began exploring ideas and potential ways to get out of my situation. As I researched and talked to and read information from others, I realized that many women felt the same way I did. I began to think of making some type of website where people could go to learn how to get out of that rut we all seemed to be in. I also liked the thought of a safe place to be where one can spend time reflecting and learning how to listen to the body, mind and soul. The safe place was the valley, and in the valley one can learn to be hopeful. So my website became Hopeful Valley as well.
